The Rapture - Henry Fonda Show and Virgin in-store 11/21 and 11/22/2006

This week The Rapture wrapped up their tour in Los Angeles at the over-sold out Henry Fonda Theatre. Before their set, the guys took the time to meet with some of the staff from Universal and some Virgin Megastore staff as well. They talked about the tour, new record, and signed copies of their CD for everyone.
The Rapture took the stage just after 10PM and played an almost 2 hour set which included songs from all of their releases. The audience was a great mix of people young and old and felt like a party straight from the early eighties – the guys in tight jeans and t-shirts and the girls glammed out with their high heels on. The venue was a non-stop dance party as the band ripped through each song with such high energy intensity. Some crowd favorites included: “Whoo! Alright – Yeah …Uh Huh,” “Get Myself Into It,” “Heaven,” and “House of Jealous Lovers.” Thanks to the support from Universal’s Frank Arigo, Mark Czarra, Artie Gentile, and Giancarlo Pacheco; UMD’s Mike Jakary, David Robinson and Megan Sforzini; and our accounts from Virgin Megastore who came to the show. Special thanks to Megan for helping me pass out flyers for the Virgin in-store before and after the show.

The day after the Henry Fonda show, The Rapture made a special appearance at the Virgin Megastore on Sunset Blvd. There were a few fans that arrived an hour early and some that drove from as far out as Pomona to meet the guys. As soon as the band got there, Mattie hopped on the turntables to spin some of his favorite electronic and dance tracks. As he DJ’d, Luke and Vito wandered around the music and book section of the store. They had a great time meeting the store staff and took pictures and signed autographs as fans approached them in the store. Mattie spun for just over an hour and signed autographs while he was behind the DJ table as well. The in-store was a great way for them to get to meet some of their most dedicated fans. There were about 30 fans they visited the store while Mattie spun and Virgin sold 15 copies of the new CD this week due to the show and in-store. Thanks to Frank Arigo, Mike Brown, Richard McFalls, Tony Gaspard, and Megan Sforzini with your help and support for this in-store. Also thanks to everyone at Virgin for their help with the in-store.
